WA1500
The WA1500 is a shooting discipline that shares similarities with our Service Match events and considered to be one of the pioneer of practical shooting disciplines.
WA1500 places a strong emphasis on precision shooting while participants engage targets from a variety of positions, including kneeling, sitting, prone, and from behind obstacles. The distances vary, ranging from 3, 7, 15, 25, and 50 meters or yards, all within specified time limits.
Originating in the U.S. between 1957 and 1958, the WA1500 competition was initially designed to enhance law enforcement’s firearms skills. Initially centered around revolvers, the discipline later evolved to include semi-automatic pistols, keeping inline with the legacy of the this competition.
