ICORE
ICORE, or the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts, is an international discipline practiced worldwide. And of course, as the name suggests, this discipline is shot using revolvers.
ICORE is a practical discipline – with the ‘Practical’ aspect of this sport setting it apart from most other forms of target shooting. Unlike disciplines where a single type of target is used at a designated distance, practical shooting is unique. Each competition features a distinct course of fire (i.e. the way a shooting range is configured), arranged differently for every event and even within the same competition (stages).
These dynamic and fast-paced events involve shooting at both stationary and moving steel and paper targets, placed at various distances and angles. No two competitions are the same. A typical match includes movement, rapid reloading, shooting from dynamic positions, firing through shooting ports, and shooting from behind barricades.
This style of shooting places a strong emphasis on speed and accuracy, both critical factors in determining a shooter’s final score.
At Oakleigh Pistol Club, you have regular opportunities to participate in ICORE competitions. We welcome participants of all skill levels, offering a supportive and friendly environment with a lot of guidance and coaching support.
